Body Wraps for Cellulite Make It Worse Body wraps and body wraps treatments are widely touted as a cellulite removal remedy. For example, here is an ad I found on a local deal-a-day site. I’ve removed the names of the business and the owners. Notice the clever use of wording they employ to hook the unsuspecting readers. There’s no question, some of these can be beneficial. For example, the herbal/sea-weed body wrap can be great for skin care and skin feel. But none of these have the ability to get rid of the appearance of cellulite. Furthermore, they can be extremely dangerous and they can make cellulite look even worse. Here’s an expose which was featured on ABC-News. Wrapped in Big Promises Dr. Herbert sums it all up very nicely there. But the key to remember is this…
Since the body wraps dangerously pull excessive amounts of water from the body, the skin has even less of firm support base under it – and because of that, any woman with the bumps and dimples we call cellulite, will have even more bumps and dimples with saggy, droopy skin. Not a pretty site and not a good feeling. There’s only one way to reverse the cause of cellulite bumps and dimples. When you tone, firm and lift the muscles which sit under the cellulite zones – the muscles then gently push outward against the skin layer – smoothing it out and giving it a tightly toned look. Simple and real – it just takes a little bit of targeted work on your part. The guidance you need is right here. Before we get into the good stuff about cellulite-burning exercises, we need to start from the right place. And that is with some facts. Once we are straight on the facts the rest of this masterpiece article will make some profound sense to you and help you in ways you never thought possible. First things first: There are no such thing as cellulite-burning exercises. See, the term “cellulite” is a descriptive word coined back in the 1970’s, in a European beauty spa, to give a name to the dimples and shadows on the lower body trouble zones of women…. i.e; the butt, hips, thighs, belly and legs. Use of the made-up word took on a false meaning as it spread through Europe and then into all other major countries. The descriptive word became a phantom noun as beauty companies and women both perpetuated the creation of this non-existent “thing”. This “thing” took on several major forms – which, to this day still confuses the B-jezus out of all women. Here are some of the things which cellulite is supposed to be (but remember it is NOT any of them because it’s only a word which describes the dimples, bumps and shadows which are visible on the outermost layer of skin). 1 – Pockets of fat caught between bands of connective tissue. (Hahahahahaaaaaaa….) 2 – Build-up of toxins and waste products caught in the fat layers of the skin. (LOL, what??) 3 – Lumpy fat deposits that are retaining excess water. (OMG, seriously??!!) And there are a few more other crazy ones – but you get the idea right? So, what does this mean? By becoming “something” – beauty companies, medi-spa services and cosmetic surgery centers were able to create bogus products and services to supposedly “treat” this thing known as “cellulite”. Dimples and Shadows On Buns, Legs, Hips, Belly & Thighs? But the reality is, you can’t treat something which doesn’t exist and therefore, you can’t burn something that doesn’t exist with certain exercises. However, there is something which can be done to address the dimples and shadows on the buns, hips and thighs. There are gentle exercises which can lift, firm and tone the muscles in those body zones so they gently push outward against the skin; causing the skin to get tighter and smoother as the dimples and shadows fade away. These are not cellulite-burning exercises (remember, there is nothing to burn). They are specific, multi-dimensional movement which reverse the underlying cause of the bumps, dimples and shadows. That underlying cause is called ‘muscle atrophy’. Muscle atrophy is where our muscles get soft, mushy and droopy from lack of proper stimulation. When they are in this condition the skin on top has no firm base of support, so it puckers, sags and “dents”. This is the look which earned the name of “cellulite” in the European spas, several decades ago – which then became a misleading noun. “The key is to reverse the muscular atrophy by stimulating those specific lower-body muscles with targeted, multi-dimensional movements, which can be done at home, on the floor or even on a bed…” When these simple exercises are done with proper form, tempo and sequence, the synergy effect wakes up those dormant muscle layers to tone, smooth, shape and firm the typical trouble spots of the average woman; even after she’s had a few children. Once you reverse the cause, then you’ll be ready for anything; the beach, the pool, you name it… In reality we should be calling them “cellulite reversing exercises; and NOT cellulite-burning exercises.
Why does this approach work? Here’s why: The female body has 90 muscles from the waist down to the ankles (about 45 per side: left/right). These muscles are of various shapes, sizes and lengths. When atrophied from neglect, they are in a “deflated” state and everything below the waist starts to sag toward the ground. By properly targeting and stimulating those muscle groups; the fibers expand and become deliciously “inflated”, lifting everything up against gravity and giving sweet and sexy shape to all the lower body trouble zones. When we look at this physiologically it all makes easy sense as this is what is supposed to happen. But, for the average woman who stumbles upon this revelation, it’s like a miracle for her. Click here to learn more about muscle-atrophy reversal to get rid of the dimples, ripples and shadows on your lower-body cellulite zones. “According to physiology experts, women have 90 muscles in the lower-body and by gently stimulating these muscles of the buns, legs, hips and thighs, the average woman can reverse the cause of dimples and shadows to get smooth and toned skin…” These gentle, multi-dimensional body movements are NOT done with typical weights and machine type exercises. Most regular fitness instructors don’t even know about this type of targeted cellulite-killing method Many women get lost, confused or mixed-up when trying to get rid of cellulite. Cellulite workouts don’t seem as sexy as magic potions, pills and massages to get smooth skin. But, they are the right thing to make it happen… Some experts claim it’s the only thing. But how? First and foremost, if you are considering cellulite workouts to improve the look of your skin then you are one step ahead of thousands of other women who want to get rid of cellulite. Many women get lost in the sea of misinformation about what cellulite is and then head into the labyrinth of beauty treatments, creams, pills and potions to solve a problem that can only be solved by targeting the underlying cause. That cause is atrophied muscle fibers that must be strengthened, toned and lifted with targeted, multi-dimensional exercises. Which Cellulite Workouts Are Best? The best cellulite workouts are multi-dimensional. A benefit to these types of exercises to get rid of cellulite is that you really don’t need a gym membership or fancy gym equipment to see the skin-smoothing results you want. Much of the common gym equipment is only two-dimensional and is structured to target only certain muscle groups. However, to get to the cause of your cellulite, the exercises need to work all 90 muscles in your lower body in way that the machines are not built to handle. Your body is an amazing machine in and of itself. Handle it the right way, with the right cellulite workouts, and you will be rewarded with tighter, smoother and better looking skin. Are Cellulite Workouts Affected by Diet? Yes, but not in a way that you may think. When talking about diet, think more of a lifetime healthy way of eating rather than any kind of caloric restricted diet which focuses on weight loss. Remember, cellulite is not about weight loss and it’s not a superficial skin problem, it’s all about healthy muscle tone. You have to change the muscles in your trouble spots and problem areas from flat and mushy – to firm and sculpted. Cellulite workouts work on the core problem of muscle tone; a nutritious diet works on the core health of your cells. Healthy cells provide better building blocks for all your structural tissues, such as muscle, connective tissue and the outer and inner dermal layers. Many women are able to easily maintain a healthy weight and achieve beautiful, smooth and tight skin when they add the benefits of cellulite workouts to a nutritious way of eating. It’s really very simple. Are Cellulite Workouts Only for the Young? Absolutely not. Your body’s physiological response to the multi-dimensional exercises that make getting rid of cellulite possible are the same no matter what your age, or your physical ability, or your color of hair, eyes, or anything else. This is the True Essence of Natural ANTI-AGING. In fact, if you are just starting to work out you will be amazed at the way your body responds when you use targeted exercises and a gentle workout plan to get into sexy shape. Your body is meant to be healthy, full of energy and attractive. So often, we fall into a belief that feeling tired is just a normal part of the aging process. However, it’s not. Energy knows no boundary and neither does exercise to get rid of cellulite. Are Cellulite Workouts Able to Overcome Bad Genetics? We all inherited something from our parents, right? But just because we got it doesn’t mean that we are destined to keep it. The genetic excuse is a myth. The connection between genetics and cellulite is not as fatal as you may think. Genetics play a part in your natural muscle tone; however, that can be manipulated and improved with simple and specific exercises. A woman who is naturally slender can add beautiful contour and shape to her body with exercise. And, a woman with cellulite can use targeted and gentle exercise to tone and lift that underlying muscle and achieve smooth, strong and supple skin. Most regular fitness instructors don’t even know about this type of targeted cellulite-killing method.
*WARNING:* This article is by no means an endorsement of any specific cellulite cream or anti-cellulite lotion listed below. Nor is it an indication or hint that any cellulite cream or lotion will actually get rid of your cellulite. Because they can’t and won’t. I have a really good feeling you are going to deeply appreciate today’s article – so let’s get right into it… Bizarre Ingredients and Twisted Claims If you were to analyze all these cellulite products individually – you would find a bizarre array of ingredients ranging from horse-chestnut to dimethylaminoethanol. You would also see an assortment of claims ranging from “removes waste and toxins in the skin” to “speeds lipolysis of fats stores and tones skin as result”. So here they are – in no specific order: The Top Selling Cellulite Creams and Anti-Cellulite Lotions Why So Many Cellulite Creams and Anti-Cellulite Lotions? Yes – that’s a long list and there are also many, many more I didn’t list. …….BUT – Why are there so many? Here’s the reason: Since none of them work – women keep trying the next one, and the next one, and the next one… All out of desperation – thinking “one of them has to work for me…” Here is a quote pulled from an ABC News feature on cellulite treatments: Top Professor/Doctor of Plastic Surgery Speaks The Truth “Women who believe that they can eliminate cellulite through creams are likely to be disappointed. So-called cellulite is the natural anatomic characteristic of many women’s thighs and buttocks,” (especially women who have let their muscle structure become atrophied and saggy) Brody said. Studies “Quietly” Involve Exercise/Fitness During Cellulite Cream Tests
Now, here is the sneakiest move of them all (besides the fake before and after photos) – some companies will sponsor studies where the users of the product are also “prescribed a healthy eating plan and an exercise routine to follow during the study period” … and when these women see any kind of improvements at the end of the study, the company claims the changes came from the product. Yes – Crazy, but true. What this all points to is certain exercises can work to get rid of the appearance of cellulite (the bumps and dimples of the skin). But – what most women, even medical and fitness professionals, don’t know is this… There are exercises and movements which are specifically targeted at reversing the muscular atrophy, saggy-ness and mushiness in the lower-body trouble spots and problem areas of the female body. The Better Targeted the Exercise–The Better the Cellulite Reduction Results When those exercises cause the muscles under the dimpled and bumpy skin to get lifted, sculpted, firmly toned, strengthened and healthy – they push outward against the loose and bumpy skin – making smooth, tight and sexy. This CANNOT be achieved with any cellulite cream or anti-cellulite lotion. It’s scientifically and physiologically impossible. So if you have finally come to a point of realization that the only thing which will work for you are the right muscle stimulating movements – then now is the time for you to start. Instead of waiting any longer... Watch this Free Cellulite Reduction Video Most women trying to get rid of trouble-zone cellulite are running after the elusive answer to the burning question:
“What is the best cellulite treatment?” When, in reality – she should first find out what may actually be the cause of her cellulite – or what factors might even be making it worse. These 5 factors hold the key to knowing some of the top causes of the dimples, dents, ripples and shadows in the trouble-zones and problem areas of the average woman. 1 – High Stress Can Cause Cellulite or Make It Worse Most women don’t even know the level of stress they have come to live with on a full-time basis. The pace of modern day society and the overload of external stimulatory sources naturally causes sub-conscious hyperactivity. This usually manifests in various levels of worrying, pre-occupation and unnecessary use of mental and emotional energy. But take that and add to it the common, high-intensity, stress events which occur in all our lives at various times – to varying degrees. For example; the sickness of a loved one, the death of a friend, divorce, work/job challenges, family dysfunctions…. All of these stress factors have a direct impact on hormones. Cortisol, epinephrine, and oxytocin, just to name a few – are effected by stress. The levels and frequency of these and other hormones in the body can influence many physical characteristics. One of them being your cellular integrity. If the cells of your body are being bombarded with hormone levels which are out of whack – then the adverse results will show. Muscles, connective tissue and skin cells will be loose, limp and mushy. This can even happen in women who are trying their hardest with general exercise and nutrition. Stress recognition and management must be addressed in this type of situation. Not only for how you look when naked – BUT your long term health and longevity is highly dependent on this. 2 – Poor Sleep Can Cause Cellulite or Make It Worse Sleep patterns and quality of sleep has an incredibly powerful effect on our hormones. In fact, sleep is where most of the magic happens. Some people are actually able to counteract the effects, to a certain degree–of a high stress life, with deep, consistent and regular sleep rituals. Nonetheless, because of the direct effect on hormone regulations, when sleep quality is sacrificed, no matter the reasons – the negative effects on the hormones are in the same zone as what is described in the ‘stress’ section, above. High quality sleep surely feels good when we are doing it – but It’s what makes us feel and function at the top of our game when we are awake. So, ponder your sleep challenges for a few minutes. Write them down and think of ways you might be able to enhance your sleep ritual. 3 – Certain Medications Can Cause Cellulite or Make It Worse I’ll keep this simple and maybe leave the bigger discussion for a future, singular article. It is widely known there are many medications which cause weight gain. Paxil, Seroquel, Zyprexa, just to name a few are some of the top offenders. But, it’s important to note there are many more. But here is something which often goes un-noticed: The negative effects of medications on BODY-COMPOSITION. Think about this. Someone starts a drug regimen to treat some type of ailment or condition. Their weight never changes and they like that, BUT – they notice the characteristics of their muscle-tone and skin integrity are changing. They are baffled. What is going on?? Fact is, hormones can be affected by drugs, not only in a way which causes weight gain, but in some it can cause body composition to change in an unfavorable way – with no cause in weight change. Lower muscle density (muscular atrophy) with some extra body fat keeps one at the same weight but with visible mushy-ness and new dimples, ripples and shadows on the skin. When someone sees these unwanted physical changes it is best to address them with your treating physician as soon as possible – and not wait until it gets “so bad”. 4 – Electrolyte Imbalance Can Cause Cellulite or Make It Worse In the fast paced world of every day life, it’s very easy to sacrifice proper nutrient intake in order to meet the self-imposed demands of your 24-hour day. Pre-packaged foods, on-the-go meals and a higher than necessary intake of caffeine are factors which create an electrolyte imbalance in many people. Tell-Tale Symptoms of Electrolyte Imbalance – Energy highs and lows (more lows) – No energy at all – Mood swings – Foggy thinking – Jittery nervousness – Helplessness – Lethargy – Incontinence – Decreased sexual performance or interest – Saggy skin – Flat muscles – Dimples, ripples and shadows on skin surface layer (what we call cellulite) The key to your electrolytes influencing the tightness and smoothness of the skin is held in their influence and maintenance of cellular hydration. When the various cells of your body structures are properly hydrated they can function at an optimal level and they look healthier and more attractive. Sure you can moisturize your skin from the outside, which is a great habit. BUT – you cannot hydrate your muscle layers, the connective tissue, nor the deeper skin levels from the outside. This must be done from the inside and your most powerful leverage point is your electrolyte intake. What Do I Do? One of the most powerful things you can do is replace all commercial table salt in your house with sea-salt. Sea salt is all natural and straight from the earth in the form which nature intended for the human body. Be sure to look for “unprocessed and unrefined” when shopping for yours. It is a FULL SPECTRUM electrolyte. It gives us all the elements we need for proper hydration. Regular table salt CANNOT do that. Then, look for packaged foods of a healthier sort. Every month the health food category grows larger because of demand. And because of this there are many companies making foods for busy people with healthier ingredients – one of them being sea salt INSTEAD OF commercial grade ‘sodium’ and refined and processed table salt. 5 – Wrong Exercises Can Cause Cellulite or Make It Worse Yes, we all know exercise is the only way to reverse the root cause, and get rid of cellulite. BUT, the wrong exercises can either make it worse or make nothing happen at all – leading you to frustration and desperation. Here’s What You Could Do Avoid too much cardio. Doing too much cardio for a woman who is not overweight – or maybe only has a couple of pounds to lose – is a surefire way to induce “muscle-wasting”. What Is Muscle-Wasting? When muscle is used in a low to moderate intensity activity for extended amounts of time – those muscles become their own fuel for the activity – and they atrophy. They get flat, soft and saggy. Without a level of stimulation which enhances, tones and lifts them – they allow the skin on top to also be soft, unsupported and saggy. Hence showing the shadows, ripples and dimples known as cellulite. They key to the average woman getting rid of lower-body cellulite is in these 3 exercise principles: 1 – ONLY do the amount of cardio needed for heart health and energy optimization. Too much will eat away at your muscle structure and age you faster (free-radical damage, etc…). 2 – Stimulate the 90 muscles in your leg, butt, hips and thighs with a synergistic combination of Multi-Dimensional movements. These are NOT done with typical gym machines and weight lifting exercises. These ARE movements based on your natural bio-mechanics working against gravity. 3 – You must do these movements with specific Form, Tempo and Sequence in order to make your muscles positively influence the skin sitting on top of them. Remember you are not trying to be a bulky body-builder or puffy power-lifter. You are simply aiming for a smooth and tightly toned body. Proportional anatomical balance is the goal... NOT destructive over-stimulation for undesired physical abnormalities.... If you want to laser-target your cellulite zones and give them the EXACT type of muscle-movement stimulation they need, then this is where you start and the Naked Beauty-SYMULAST Method is what you need. Instructors claim that if you only knew the right moves, your trouble zones would disappear and your body would be dimple-free. But can certain exercises really get rid of cellulite? Exercise can reduce fat, but there's no way to spot-treat cellulite. Here are 6 Exercises to Get Rid Of Cellulite in Two Weeks: The Wrong Exercises Do Not Get Rid of Cellulite But because this is new to you – you have yet to learn that not all exercises are good ones – and not all exercises get rid of cellulite. Try getting your health club membership fees back from the health club after 2-3 months of using it. Hah! That just ain’t happening. It’s your loss – that’s basically what they tell you, even though you didn’t get the results you thought you were going to get. Sad, yes – but still true nonetheless. Only the Precise Anti-Cellulite Exercises Get Rid of Your Cellulite. This video explains why and shows you how: In all of my work with helping women “beautify” their lower-bodies – there are a handful of burning questions which are asked of me on a regular and consistent basis. Today, we address one of these often-asked-questions. That question is: “Is there such thing as an anti-cellulite “diet”? In short, the most direct answer is: “yes”… But – the reasons I will share are different than what most other sources are trying to get you to believe… There is a myth causing some women to believe certain foods and nutrients will “flush out the toxins which are causing your cellulite”… THAT’S TOTALLY FALSE – because there are no toxins in or under your skin. If there were toxins building up and getting trapped under your skin, you’d be dead. Plain and simple. Our bodies are designed to remove toxins very efficiently. This physiological process happens 24/7 – non-stop, all the time. So, the unproven idea of “toxins” being the cause of your cellulite means your cellulite can’t be reversed by “flushing” them out with certain foods – because they are not there in the first place. But, not to worry – because here is what the proper eating plan can do to reverse, or prevent, the root cause of cellulite in your legs, buns, hips and thighs. A true anti-cellulite diet provides optimal nutrients in amounts which positively impact female hormone regulation and balance. Hormone Optimization When the hormones are optimized – all the processes of the body are also optimized. Both structure and function are given all the right elements to thrive. But equally important is the removal of certain ingredients and chemicals which have a negative impact on hormone regulation and balance. Artificial sweeteners, conditioners, stabilizers, additives and artificial preservatives – are used so freely and frequently in mass market food and beverage production – it’s almost impossible to avoid them, if you are not paying attention. So it’s up to you to know what to look out for – and then build your anti-cellulite eating plan around those rules. You have (A) items to include and (B) items to avoid. That’s it… Just 2 primary rules to follow. Here are some specifics on the “avoid” list: – acesulfame potassium, an artificial sweetener (there are 4 others). – potassium bromate, a preservative banned in most countries. – Red-3, an artificial additive shown to cause thyroid tumors in rats; and possibly in humans. Here are some specifics on the “include” list: – complete proteins, or protein combos (salmon, mussels, pecans, almonds, eggs). – high nutrient carbohydrates (sweet potatoes, carrots, chick peas, lentils). – essential fatty acids/EFA’s/Omega-3’s (these are in some of the foods above). How does this approach improve your trouble spots and problem areas? When you expose the muscles of your leg, butt, hip and thigh areas with proper stimulation (synergistic muscle layer stimulation/SYMULAST)- you want to feed your body the proper nutrients so: You put all those together and you can understand why and how some women are without cellulite – and more importantly; how others HAVE been able to get rid of it.
This is important: While following a properly structured anti-cellulite diet is very healthy for you in many ways (beyond just the cellulite issue) – YOU WILL NOT see the true benefits unless it is combined with the proper exercises which target your trouble spots and problem areas of your lower body. This is the main reason why The Naked Beauty “Diet/Anti-Cellulite Eating Plan is only available to women who start off with The Naked Beauty/SYMULAST Exercise Method. So, if you’re interested, — just go here: Truth About Cellulite Video This condensed anti-cellulite workout can be one as a stand alone routine. That is STEP 1. …And then… If you combine this short Anti-Cellulite sequence with the 3-Step Cellulite Removal Presentation (that would be STEP 2) then you have a perfect introduction to targeting your toughest trouble spots and problem areas. BUT, before you do these moves – BE SURE TO GET YOUR DOCTOR’S CLEARANCE. … Better to be safe than sorry. These are the moves I demonstrate in the video: Mini Anti-Cellulite Workout: 4 Exercises for Cellulite Reduction 1 – Double Leg, Hamstring Curls for Cellulite on Back of Thighs and Butt Lying down on a mat or soft surface, facing up – place your heels and calves on top of an exercise ball (55cm or 65cm is ideal). Arms on the ground at your sides. Lift your hips off the ground by pushing your heels and calves into the ball. That is your starting position. Then curl your heels in toward your hamstrings, while pushing your hips toward the sky. Stop when the bottom of your feet are on top of the ball. Then slowly return the the starting position. 2 – Double Leg, Knee-Ups for Cellulite on Front of Thighs and Legs Get onto your hands and knees – on an exercise mat or soft surface. Bring your toes forward. Then slowly lift your knees off the ground and get your glutes up toward the sky – so your legs are almost fully straightened. Then slowly return to the start position – lightly touching your knees to the ground. 3 – Double Sided Hip-Extensions for Cellulite on Back of Thighs, Calves and Butt Lying down face-up now. Bend your knees and point your toes upward – so your heels are the only part of your feet touching the floor or mat. Push your heels into the ground and lift your hips toward the sky. Give a slight pause at the top. Then slowly lower your hips to touch the mat. Breath out on the way up (as you exert) and breath in on the way down (as you relax). 4 – Exercise Ball Squats for Cellulite on Butt, Hips, Thighs, Legs and Calves Place an exercise ball (size 55cm – 65cm) against a wall and then lean against it with your lower back area. With your feet shoulder width apart – slowly squat down as the ball rolls up toward your upper back/shoulder blade area. Pause for a second or two – then slowly return to the top position, keeping a slight bend in the knees at the top. Breath in going down – breath out going up. Remember: DO NOT lock out your knees at the top of the movement. If going through this short anti-cellulite workout routine is too easy – try it a second time. You can also add 5 or 10 repetitions to each set for a longer exercise sessions and a more intense muscle layer stimulus. This Is The Start of Your Cellulite Reduction If you do the routine in the video above – combined with the anti-cellulite exercises in Belinda’s video (see blue link at top of this page) then you are on your way to reversing the cause of your cellulite bumps and dimples. This is for those people with cellulite or those who desire to prevent it: you are advised to go on a detoxifying diet, including in it many fresh fruits and vegetables, and avoiding black tea, iced tea, coffee and alcohol. The canned foods also need to be forbidden. Important aspects to have an eye on are the water retainer alimentary substances, which can increase the problem of having cellulite. An example can be the sodium, existing in great amounts in the salt and gravies like Chinese shoyu. Lactose (sugar of milk) can provide the same effect, so it also has to be consumed with moderation. Choose yoghurts and cheeses that possess reduced lactose. It is also important to reduce the fat on the diet, since it contributes for the increase of cells that produce the adipose tissue, consequently leading to weight gaining, and this is extremely related with the advance of the cellulite. Associated to a balanced diet, you must practice exercises regularly. You should rather food that contain vitamins, fibers, minerals and fewer calories, since they regulate the process of energy production in the system, besides diminishing the absorption of fat of foods and controlling the restoration of tissues, keeping your skin healthy and stunning. Drinking water is another very important item to acknowledge. You must drink per day, minimum two liters to hydrate the body; this procedure assesses the kidneys in the toxin elimination and assists in the treatment for cellulite. Here’s a hot tip: besides all these benefits for your body, it fools the stomach by giving it a sensation of satisfaction of already eaten before. Have a lot of meals in small portions during the day. It makes the digestion easier. The bumps are caused by the underlying fat cells growing too large and stretching the natural fiber compartments that hold the skin to the underlying layers of tissues. "Cellulite" is ordinary fat, but ordinary fat that affects the appearance of the skin. Strands of fibrous collagen tissue connect the skin to the subcutaneous layers and also separate compartments that contain fat cells. When fat cells increase in size, these compartments bulge and produce a rippled appearance of the skin. Women tend to have cellulite more often than men because they have a vertical pattern of collagen in the underlying layer that holds the fat cells, and when the fat cells become very large, they bulge out of the chambers and appear as cellulite. In men, the pattern of collagen is tighter, in a diagonal pattern, and they have thicker skin, so there is less bulging of the individual fat cells. Another factor in cellulite is high levels of estrogen, since this hormone has a direct effect on the holding capacity of fat cells through the increase of alpha-adrenoreceptors, the chemical doorways that tell your fat cells to hold on to their contents. Poor diet, bad circulation, and poor lymphatic circulation can all contribute to the appearance of cellulite. TREATING SKIN WITH CELLULITE There are several extra steps you can take for the treatment of cellulite. Consider your skin care regimen, and fine-tune it to meet the needs of skin that has a tendency to swell with fluids, store fat and have poor circulation. Nutrition: Although cellulite is a skin condition, it’s closely tied to the storage of excess fat. If you are significantly overweight, you should certainly alter your diet. The dietary enzyme bromelain can improve overall circulation to your skin and adipose tissues by removing the buildup of fibrin on the walls of blood vessels. Treating cellulite requires a two-pronged approach – one being the shrinking of the fat cells themselves, the second being the regeneration of collagen and strengthening of the skin outside of the swollen fat cells. Cleansing: When cleaning your skin, use your wash cloth or loufah to massage the area where cellulite occurs. At first, use a circular motion and then a brushing motion upwards towards the bowels. This will improve circulation and edema, and help remove toxins and metabolic wastes out of the tissues and interstitial spaces around the collagen and fat cells. Other Treatments: · Dry Skin Brushing: Learn to dry brush your skin at least twice every day – upon rising and before going to bed. Skin brushing provides many benefits in the treatment of cellulite. First of all, it’s “exercise” for you skin, and strengthens the underlying dermis and pattern of collagen in the subcutaneous layer. It stimulates the growth and repair of the tissues by increasing blood flow to the area. It also helps remove toxins and metabolic wastes out of the interstitial fluids surrounding the tissues for disposal. Dry brushing is good for you skin all over, but if you are suffering from spider or varicose veins, brushing these areas vigorously several times every day, first in a circular motion and then upwards towards the colon, can improve the appearance of cellulite. · Hormones: Cellulite is often associated with the use of HRT and birth control pills. High levels of estrogen from these medications can cause an increase in the fatty tissues ability to store fats and cause them to bulge, pushing out the skin and causing cellulite. If you are using birth control pills for contraception, you may want to ask your doctor for a lower-estrogen dose formula or a non-hormonal form, such as an IUD. If you are on HRT, you may want to consider switching to a lower dose, adding progesterone cream, or using a weaker formula, such as an estrone cream. · Habits: Get out of the habit of crossing your legs, knees and ankles. This reduces circulation and increases swelling. Try to keep moving regularly, neither sitting nor standing for long periods. · Exercise: Regular exercise is necessary for the improvement of cellulite. Not only does it help reduce the appearance of cellulite by burning the fatty acids that are causing the cellulite. It also improves circulation and helps to remove toxin-filled wastes away from the skin. Take up a walking program, or sneaking in a set of exercises in the restroom during breaks. Teresa Tapp’s “T-Tapp” program is renowned for short, effective exercise movements that reduce cellulite and increase overall blood and lymph circulation. Rashelle Haines program “LifeLift” is also excellent for improving lymphatic circulation, burning excess fat and glucose and improving muscle and skin tone. · Body Wraps: Body wraps, both professional and homemade can improve the appearance of cellulite. Body wraps use a combination of minerals and herbs that stimulate the fat cells to release their contents, they absorb toxins from the skin and reduce swelling. Generally you will find stimulant herbs like kelp or algae that stimulate the fat burning process in the cells. You will find cosmetic clays that will remove toxins and wastes from the pores, and horsetail and horse chestnut that reduce edema (swelling) and provide minerals for strengthening the skin. These formulas are applied to the skin with the use of compression wraps. It improves the removal of metabolic wastes and toxins from the interstitial tissues around the adipose tissues, and gives the skin a smoother appearance. There are many professionals offering massage for cellulite, including lymphatic massage and endermology, but if that is out of your budget, you may want to try a home massage device. Many are available, from a simple round-prong hand tool to a powered massager that provides heat, massage and suction similar to the professional endermology machines. SUPPLEMENTS FOR CELLULITE REDUCTION Alfalfa: Alfalfa is a natural diuretic that helps balance the body’s interstitial fluids and reduces edema and swelling. It’s also a phytoprogesterone, which helps balance the excess estrogen that can exacerbate cellulite. Borage Oil: Borage oil contains high amounts gamma linoleic acid, which is an important fatty acid to the strengthening of cell walls. Bromelain: Bromelain is a naturally occurring enzyme in natural foods that aid in the digestion of proteins. The consumption of bromelain aids in the removal of fibrin buildup in fine blood vessels. This improves and increases circulation to the skin, and aids in repair and rejuvenation. Horsetail: Horse Chestnut herb contains high levels of the mineral silica, which is used in the repair and maintenance of skin cells. Cider Vinegar contains an array of important enzymes and aids in balancing body pH. It’s also a good source of potassium, which is necessary for fluid balance in the body. Coconut Oil contains medium chain triglycerides which are easily absorbed and used by the body for fuel. It has the capability of stimulating the thyroid gland, which increases body temperature and metabolism and is known for improving the burning of excess fat. Ginkgo Biloba is a natural blood thinner that increases the microcirculation to skin and fat cells. Gotu Kolu is a natural source of caffeine. Caffeine stimulates the beta-adrenoreceptors on the surface of the fat cells to release their stores of fatty acids, aiding in the burning of excess fat. Green Tea: Green tea is a mild stimulate that contains caffeine as well as powerful antioxidants that aid in the proper replication and repair of skin cells. MSM: Is an important mineral that is necessary for skin cell repair. EXTERNAL TREATMENTS FOR CELLULITE Aloe Vera contains alatoin, which sooths and heals skin. It has been shown clinically to increase microcirculation of the skin and to speed healing of skin tissues.
Betonite Clay is a natural mineral clay that is known for its ability to absorb impurities and toxins from the skin through the pores. Horsetail, ginkgo biloba, kelp and green tea also work externally and can be added to lotions or creams for massage into problem areas. Many experts have recommended using coffee grounds as a scrub for cellulite prone areas. The grounds work as an exfoliant, as the caffeine absorbs into the skin and stimulate the beta adrenoreceptors in the fat cells to release their contents. Dead Sea Salts and Kelp or bladderwrack contain powerful minerals that aid in the repair of skin cells as well as the mineral iodine which can aid in the metabolism of the underlying fat cells. There are also many commercial formulas and methods for the reduction of cellulite. Most contain caffeine or a similar chemical called theophylline or aminophylline. Many also contain kelp, bladderwrack and other herbs mentioned herein. Just remember that cellulite reduction is a two step process. The cause of cellulite is over-sized fat cells that have stretched out the collagen structure underlying the skin. The first step is to reduce bodyfat, and many herbs and nutrients both external and external can accelerate the process. The second step is to increase the strength of the skin and the collagen webs under the subcutaneous tissues. Skin and collagen require vitamins, minerals and fatty acids to rebuild themselves properly. Excess fluids can exacerbate the problem, so proper fluid intake and circulation is important. Drink plenty of fluids, and stay active to increase the circulation of the lymph system. With a little diligent effort the appearance of cellulite can be reduced. Check out the Free Presentation On How to Get Rid of Cellulite! The term cellulite originated in European spas (Best Spa Vacations In Europe) and salons and they explain it as deposits of tiny fat globules on the buttocks and thighs. Cellulite is a buildup of lumpy, thick, irregular fat deposits with an orange peel appearance. The most common areas are around the buttocks, hips, and thighs, and is not necessarily a factor of body weight. You do not have to be heavy to have cellulite. Nevertheless, it is possible to reduce the appearance of cellulite.
Cellulite is not a medical term. However, medical professionals agree that it is a buildup of common fatty tissue. The skin is connected by strands of fibrous tissues to deeper tissue layers, which separates the fat cell compartments. The increase in the size of fat cells is accompanied by a waffled appearance of the skin that results in the bulging of the fat cell compartments. Speedy metabolism and detoxification in the body help in gradual elimination of cellulite. A healthy metabolism is capable of eradicating cellulite forever. The proper functioning of the liver is also necessary for detoxification. Bio-ceramic additive reflects your body's own infrared rays, which help to break down cellulite cells and revitalize tissue.
